“I have always imagined that paradise will be a kind of a library” — Jorge Luis Borges
The CUHP Library commenced its journey with the establishment of the University in 2009 as a central facility to support teaching, learning and research. Over time it has developed into a modern scholarly environment that actively supports the research and learning needs of CUHP and the broader North Indian region.
The Library is equipped with modern facilities including campus-wide 24x7 Wi-Fi and access to a mix of print and digital resources — monographs, journals, online databases, patents and CD-ROMs — available for on-campus and off-campus users. These facilities are aimed at strengthening research and fostering digital literacy among students and scholars.
CUHP Library uses integrated library management systems (for example Koha), RFID and Wi-Fi enabled services and single-window search applications to simplify discovery and access to resources. The library team continues to explore user-centred innovations (instructional sessions, technology-driven services and 'third space' concepts) to improve user experience and research support.
The Library’s mission is to provide inclusive access to quality information resources, supporting lifelong and flexible learning opportunities. Emphasis is placed on enabling independent learning, improving access for those traditionally underserved, and contributing to higher-education research outputs across disciplines.
